Asking a founder for access to their Stripe account is a serious request. FirstDollar is designed around data minimization: we only ever read your payments — never move money or change anything — and the connection is revoked automatically the moment your first charge is found, typically within seconds. We keep exactly one record: that first charge, stored encrypted at rest with AES-256-GCM. Your other transactions are never stored, your customers' data is never touched, and we never see your password or API keys.
Deletion requests honoured on request — we remove your certificate and its encrypted record.

Is it safe to connect my Stripe account?
Yes. The connection uses Stripe's official OAuth flow, and we only ever read your payments — never move money or modify anything. We disconnect automatically right after finding your first charge, and store only that one transaction, encrypted (AES-256-GCM).
What data do you store, exactly?
One record: your first successful charge and your Stripe account ID, all encrypted at rest. No other transactions, no customer data, no keys.
What makes the premium certificate "verified"?
Its QR code links to a permanent verification page generated from the payment we read via Stripe at issuance. A screenshot can be faked; a live verification page cannot.
I haven't made my first sale yet. Can I still use it?
